Here at USA Smoke Shop, we want to provide you with
the best information on cigars, pipes, cigarettes, and tobacco.
We are currently under construction, but check back with us soon
for great information and news articles on smoking and smoking products.
Smoking is practically as much an American pastime as baseball.
Interestingly enough, though, what you smoke seems to be a statement
as to who you are. For instance, when you see another person smoking
a pipe, the word “intellectual” likely comes to mind.
Similarly, if you see a man with a cigar in his mouth, you will
likely think, “wealthy.” Of course, a woman with cigar
in hand (or mouth) is typically thought of as masculine.
The draw of cigarettes has generally been that those who smoke
them are thought of as “cool” or “sexy.”
Those who chew tobacco, on the other hand, are more commonly thought
of as baseball players or farmers.
A new trend in smoking in the USA is the hookah. A hookah is a
traditional Asian device used for smoking. Many people like to smoke
flavored tobacco with a hookah. Of course, some people do not smoke
tobacco at all with a hookah; but rather, they smoke cannabis or
opium.
Whereas smokers of cigarettes generally have few smoking accessories
other than a pack of cigarettes and a lighter… and maybe a
cigarette holder or antique cigarette case (these items are not
nearly as popular as they used to be), cigar smokers come complete
with many smoking accessories.
A cultured cigar smoker will likely have cigar cutters, a cigar
humidor, a cigar box, a cigar holder, and maybe even a cigar cabinet.
Some popular cigars are Davidoff cigars and Courvoisier Cigars.
Some people only bring out cigars for special occasions, like weddings,
new babies, and retirements, etc. Other people smoke cigars daily
(or, perhaps, they simply think that everyday is a special occasion,
worthy of a cigar!)
A tobacco pipe consists of a bowl (a small chamber for the combustion
of the tobacco), a stem, and a mouthpiece. Many tobacco pipes seem
more like pieces of art, rather than simply a piece to smoke tobacco
out of. These smoking pipes are made from a variety of materials,
including briar, corncob, clay, meerschaum, cherry, wood, glass,
and other materials.
The person most famously connected with tobacco pipes is Sherlock
Holmes. And Sherlock is, of course, an intellectual… and intelligent
detective, to be more precise. This matches up with the abovementioned
stereotype that those that smoke tobacco pipes are intellectuals.
Tobacco can be smoked (or chewed!) in multiple ways. The way that
you choose to use tobacco is entirely up to you. Be aware, of course,
that there are multiple harmful side effects associated with chewing
or smoking tobacco.
